Society, Governance and Diversity Summer School, April 20th-24th 2015

The UCC Summer School in Society, Governance & Diversity is designed to meet the needs of managers and professionals in civil service, government agencies and similar positions who are seeking to better understand the complexities and challenges for governance presented by the complexities of ethnic, religious, gender and cultural diversity of contemporary societies.
The programme will consist of a week-long schedule of lectures and seminars on specific substantive issues, including: diversity in historical and contemporary perspectives; tribal & imperial legacies; gender & sexuality; race & ethnicity; class, status and party.
In the afternoon there will be master-class sessions on such general framing contexts within which particular problems of governance and diversity arise, such as: 'Globalization & Development’; ‘Jurisprudence & Governance’; ‘Corruption’; ‘Colonialism & Post-colonialism’.
The programme will be delivered by UCC staff, plus guests.
Numbers will be limited to 15 - 20 participants.
This is to ensure a good quality of cohort experience and personal engagement with staff.
